A Paleo Diet is a great way to get more energy and lose weight, without having to count calories, restrict carbs or limit fats… when you start to follow a Paleo Diet you will eat some of the best food you will ever taste!
The Paleo Diet will help you discover the food you were designed to eat… we will call this real food…
People who ignore the Paleo Diet end up with low energy, inflammation, and struggle to lose weight…
The word “Paleo” comes from the word “Paleolithic”, or the stone age era…. but the idea isn’t so much to eat like a caveman…
Some will say that eating a Paleo Diet is about eating like hunter-gatherers… That’s why you may see the Paleo Diet being described as eating “primal”, “ancestral”, “nutrient-dense”, “whole-food”, or “real food”… and that’s close, but not exactly what a Paleo Diet is about…
Eating “real food” is possibly the most important out of all these descriptions. To be on a Paleo Diet, you must be able to distinguish between real food and fake food…
Do you know the difference?
The best way to think about a paleo diet is eating food the way our ancestors did before the invention of domestic appliances…
As you begin to learn about how food has changed since domestic appliances came about, you will start to understand why there are so many people who are now feeling tired all the time and struggling to lose weight…
Food back then was different… very different…
Back then, if you ate a watermelon, you had to pick out tons of seeds from the watermelon… a watermelon with seeds is what we mean when we talk about eating a “real” watermelon…
Seedless watermelons are not natural… a watermelon produces seeds by nature… to produce seedless watermelons, you have to modify the genes of the watermelon seed…
Our ancestors only ate real foods… they did not eat foods that were changed from their original or natural form. They were not afraid of carbs, fats nor did they have to count calories…
What foods are allowed on the Paleo Diet?
Finding the perfect Paleo Diet recipes is not how you make Paleo work…. Eating a paleo diet isn’t so much about being on a diet and restricting foods… it isn’t about eating specific foods per se…
You can boil down the list of Paleo foods to eat to:
- Meat, seafood, eggs
- Vegetables & fruit
- Nuts & seeds
- Healthy Fats & Oils
… but knowing the list of foods allowed on the Paleo diet isn’t what makes a diet “Paleo”… that’s why I don’t share many “Paleo Diet Recipes” in this blog…
I don’t have people count calories, nor do I tell them to “eat this, not that”…
Instead, I’m going to share with you the real reason why the Paleo Diet works…
The purpose of eating food is to get energy, isn’t it?
You want your body to produce energy, because that’s what’s required for your body to build muscle… you need to produce energy to burn fat… you need to produce energy to live…
I used to feel tired all the time and couldn’t lose weight no matter what…
Something was going on with me and I couldn’t figure out what it was…
At the time, I didn’t realize there was a connection between the food I was eating and all my issues…
This is why I started seeking for answers through the Paleo Diet…
Both lack of energy and the inability to lose weight start with poor digestion… poor digestion stems from eating foods that your body is not meant to eat… the Paleo diet guides you on what foods not to eat…
What foods are not allowed on the Paleo Diet?
Foods that should not be part of any human’s diet… these are foods that drain your energy and make it hard to lose weight…
- Industrial seed oils (Vegetable oil)
- Canola oil
- Corn oil
- rapeseed oil
- cottonseed oil
- soybean oil
- Artificial or refined sugar & sweeteners
- Packed snacks
- Pasteurized dairy
- Modern day grains
Wait, wait, wait… vegetable oil is bad for you?
Listen, I know it has the word “vegetable” in it… but vegetable oil is not the type of oil that is produced by nature… the source of this oil comes from seeds (rapeseed) that are not natural because the seed’s genes have been modified… (more on this later)…
The Paleo Diet is all about learning how to tell the difference between real food VS fake food…
At the core of a Paleo Diet, the reason why you want to seek out foods that our ancestors ate is because they are easier to digest, they give you energy and keep you lean & toned…
When you can’t digest food, you get inflammation… you get gas, bloating, or constipation… you start gaining weight…
There is one thing that makes the Paleo Diet work better than other diets… when you learn this one thing, you too will find it easier to get more energy and lose weight…
